And now for something a little different…I have been focusing most of my writing on the “with the love of your life” section of ModernMarried. Today we deep dive into “living the life you love” with the launch of a new regular feature on the blog: The Love List.
Ready? Here we go!
It all started with Pinterest. There I was innocently clicking and repinning and liking when I came across a Love Manifesto so beautiful that not only did I repin it, I had to click on it and find out where it came from.

As it turns out, it came from the beautiful Rachel MacDonald and her blog “In Spaces Between.”
When I met The Hubs it was not love at first sight, it took a few days! However, when I discovered Rachel’s blog it was instant googlie love. I read a bunch of posts, found her on Facebook and liked her page. I was *enamored.*
Then I got a status update that said something to the effect of “I am accepting new clients for coaching on blogging and social media…” I could not write the email fast enough. My big project right now is developing my writing, figuring out social media (Twitter, I am looking at you.) and trying to balance writing with all the other projects I am working on.
Right now I am prepping for the New Love Resolution Telesummit. The best Latin Relationship experts in the country (and me!) are spilling all the details about re-defining every aspect of love. The legends are true. Latinos are passionate folk, and boy do we have relationship drama. Click here for all the scoop on the New Love Resolution. (Shhh don’t tell, but you don’t have to be Latin to sign up and get some juicy tips.)
After the Telesummit, there are still about 148 things on my To Do list, including writing a blog post every week. And you all know I believe in coaching so when the blogger-I-fell-instantly-in- love-with said she would teach me her blogging secrets I said a big resounding YES!
Our first session was last week and I have already started making tweaks on my site and you will see new features and surprises coming your way over the next few months.
All this brings us to today and The Love List. My new coach Rachel has a feature on her blog called “Making Me Happy” which is a collection of things that make her smile and experience gratitude and joy. I thought it was ultimate levels of coolness and thought “I want my own version of that.” So in the name of “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” I present you with:
The Love List – A Collection of Things to Love and Share

This is my most re-pinned pin on Pinterest. It has been re-pinned 396 times. It makes me smile to think that something I liked and inspired me has now inspired 396 people. I hope it inspires you too!
And now for The Food Files – a sub-section of The Love List – because I love naming things!
Several of my friends are doing elimination diets and gluten free diets and paleo diets and they are just all kinds of healthy. Somehow from speaking with one of them I randomly found a list somewhere that said to try Ezequiel Breads because they are super healthy. I had never heard of these breads before but I am a huge fan of bread of any kind so I brought one home from the frozen section at my local grocery store.
OH. M. To the G. This bread was inspired by a biblical verse. No wonder it’s heavenly. Seriously last night I had one slice in the morning, a very reasonable lunch at work and then came home and had toast for dinner.
I love my organic, gluten-free, healthy, heavenly friends. I mean seriously, a girl brings a new bread into your life – you keep her.
But that’s not all. As you might recall I was recently in Nicaragua on vacation. And what did I pick up at the airport? A whole-heaping bag of Kit Kats!
WHY Kit Kats you ask? Well, I walked into the store, checked the label and these Kit Kats came to Nicaragua from the United Kingdom. Odd but true. And who makes the *BEST* Kit Kats in the world?!?! Beautiful Great Britain that’s who. Our chocolate is extra sweet. Their chocolate is just the right mix of not-so-sweet-yet-chocolatey.
I brought back British Kit Kats from Central America. I love my life.
And the final food moment is from Chicago – Lou Malnati’s Deep Dish Pizza.
Every Valentine’s Day we order Deep Dish Pizza from Lou Malnati’s, bake it at home and eat out while having a quiet evening in. It’s become a tradition and we love it. You guys know we are all about making new solutions that work for us and we do not like to go out on school nights. Making our own tradition is where it’s at.
This week was also Hubby’s Holiday aka his Birthday!
We went to Gamestop (The Hubs is a gamer, it’s his version of heaven.) and when we were at the check out line, there was this huge white book. It’s the official guide to his current favorite game.
The book spoke to me, it said: “Take me home. Give me to your husband. Make him smile.” When a book speaks to you, you must listen. Here it is at home with us and my copy of “Marriage, A History: How Love Conquered Marriage” which is both fascinating and also in the category of “I read these things so you don’t have to.”
And talking about books…
And finally to end my very first Love List I have to include my beautiful God-daughter Sophia’s 4th Birthday Party. It was quite the extravaganza with Tinkerbell making an appearance. I never imagined Tinkerbell as a girl who speaks Spanglish with a Cuban accent. It was delightfully hilarious and she made the kids laugh and smile and dance and play.
And there was a bounce house. So I bounced.
Putting together this list for you, my Lovely ModernMarried Readers really connected me with so much goodness and joy in my life. Please notice how very simple these things are – bread, pizza, books, inspiring thoughts and jumping up and down with glee. There is so much to love all around us. My invitation to you today is to look for what is already in your life that you love and kiss it, scrunch it, bounce with it and share it.
It’s your turn now. What is on YOUR Love List this week? Please share in the comments.
