My blog baby is 4 years old today! Time flies when you are writing words, loving life and giving marriage advice!
My first post was shared by ZERO people. One of my most popular posts – “5 Things You Should Never Do When You Are Feeling Overwhelmed” has been read and shared over 16 thousand times.
That’s 16 thousand people with some new ideas on how to manage overwhelm.
That makes me SO HAPPY.
THANK YOU for reading this today and being part of my writing journey.
I have so much more in my heart to share with you and I am doing my best to organize my thoughts in the most useful actionable ways possible.
I always, always, always want to know how I can help you Dream Deeper and Love Bigger. Why? Because I am absolutely convinced we can change the world together – one healed heart at a time. The best way to reach me is to join my email community which you can click here to do. Then I will be just an email away anytime.
Now without further ado, here are 10 of my favorite and I hope, most useful posts – kind of like a greatest hits collection except without the music or the Grammys or the groupies…yeah so not quite like a greatest hit collection except for the great part. Lots of GREAT!
The first 5 are about your marriage – very specific relationship tips.
The second 5 posts are about YOU and how you show up in your relationship and in your life.
You can always check out the most popular posts on the sidebar of the blog. These aren’t the most popular but they are some of the most useful. I hope!
Here are 10 posts that you can bookmark to read later and how they can help you.
MARRIAGE ADVICE to make your relationship stronger
Truth, Love & Courage – Everything I Needed to Learn to be on the Spiritual Path I Learned From a Video Game – Because my hubby wrote it. And he is awesome!
Also seriously – He wrote this: “A good marriage must be based on truth, no doubt about it. You have to be yourself, share the real you, be willing to face the parts of yourself that even you’ve been hiding for yourself. You have to be authentic about who you are, what you like, what you don’t like. This is a tall order when dating, when you want to put your best foot forward and make a good impression, but a relationship based on lies is a house made of straw, it will not survive the first strong wind.” So yeah, there is more where that came from and you should read it all.
Build Emotional Wealth One Deposit at a Time – Many of my favorite marriage books have been written by the same team at the Gottman Institute. John Gottman and his wife Julie, along with a team of researchers, have identified the elements that make marriages work so they could teach us how to replicate their research in our own homes every day. This includes the magic of the Six Second Kiss.
Did you know that holding kiss for at least 6 seconds is proven to increase the intimacy in your relationship? Although anytime is a good time to kiss, before you go to work and when you come home are super-duper times for Six Seconds of Love!

25 Secrets to a Happy Marriage I love this post so much because I crowdsourced it on my Facebook page, so they aren’t *my* secrets, they are *your* secrets. I further love it because every single one of the 25 suggestions are SIMPLE, most are one word and the most complicated ones are a whole sentence. Love does not have to be hard, it just has to be done. Every day. Like showers.

LIFE ADVICE from your LIFE COACH that will also MAKE YOUR MARRIAGE STRONGER 😉
Want a happy marriage? Learn to Recognize and Process Your Negative Emotions.
Here is the deal, you need to know what to do when the shish kabob hits the barbeque. And the number one thing that you need to learn how to do if you aren’t doing it already is to FEEL YOUR FEELINGS – all of them. The happy ones and the sucky ones. Avoiding feelings gets us into big trouble and extra-large pants.
When we avoid we tend to over-eat, over-shop, over-work and over-nag. So how do we stop avoiding? We pause and feel. We let the feeling happen. We don’t suppress it or deny it. Then we figure out what’s next – *after* we have felt it fully. This is simple but not easy. And if you want the fullest, happiest, richest, most healed life you can have it’s an absolute must. Like candy canes in December.

Are You Speaking Love Into Your Marriage?
You know what you control in your relationship? What you say and what you do. That’s it. You know how to make your relationship amazing? Say and do amazing things – or simple loving things every day, because simple loving things are amazing.
I get goosebumps thinking about a world where we speak love into each other every day.
Can you think of anything more important to do right now?
I can’t.
This world needs love. Start speaking it into existence.

The Soulful Conversation: How to Communicate with Your Spouse –
I am slightly obsessed with conversations. When you stop and think about it, ALL of our life happens inside a conversation. It’s either a conversation with someone else, or the conversation inside our heads. I don’t know about you, but my head can be quite the Chatty Cathy.
Anyway, no matter what is happening around us, it’s happening inside a conversation.
And yet, there is no Conversation 101 in kindergarten. Or college.
Conversations are how we take jobs, leave bosses, get engaged, start a business, plan a vacation, choose where to go for lunch on a Saturday, rent an apartment, and buy a house. You get the idea. So learning how to have good ones, kinda’ important.
Do that here and now with this nifty guide – http://modernmarried.com/how-to-communicate-with-your-spouse/
