Isn’t it fascinating that holiday stress is just as prevalent as holiday joy?
We can just as easily get excited about trimming the tree and buying presents and going to parties as we can get completely stressed and have multiple freak outs over, trimming the tree, buying presents and going to parties.
Being human is an endless opportunity for fascination and curiosity with a side dish of stress and panic.
This holiday season, I will be making my life simpler by taking a break from blog updates in December.
I will still send a short, inspiring email (or two) so if you aren’t on the private Modern Married email list, you can join us by clicking here.
However, I want to give you some quick useful strategies to savor the holidays this year.
We will start with a powerful question: Are you living into obligation or are you living into intention?
We do so many things for other people out love and our desire to serve. However, over the years, we may have made commitments that felt good when we originally made them, but don’t match with our current values, needs or schedule.
Is there anything on your holiday agenda that made sense when you started doing it, but it might be time to say good bye to?
Take this question with you all month: Am I doing this from a place of love and intention or out of an outdated sense of obligation?
It’s okay if you still decide to do it. I am not the holiday police. I just want you to take a moment and notice and then decide again whether it’s a yes or a no.
We talk about this in depth along with a few other strategies to refresh our approach to the holidays on my free audio, “The Gift of Peace: Simple Strategies for a Stress-Free Holiday Season” which I am delighted share as my gift to you this holiday season.
I recorded this special episode of our podcast, Life Coach Jam, with the brilliant Master Weight Loss Coach, CJ Blaquera and together we went deep and with humor and love addressed all the things that have stressed us out over the holidays so that you can:
Say Goodbye to Holiday Stress once and for all
Reconnect with what you really value (Hint: you can’t buy it in a store.)
Truly celebrate and savor each experience you choose to participate in this year. (Hint: It doesn’t require undoing the top button of your pants.)
Challenge and replace the un-questioned thoughts that lead to over-eating, over-spending and overwhelm.
So you can love the holidays all over again. The audio is just about 90 minutes of Truth Talk – which is of course, my favorite kind.
To listen to the audio right in your computer – just click the play button below.
You can also listen right in iTunes by clicking this link and downloading episode 11 (which you will see as number 16 in iTunes).
We also mention a PDF guide that you can download to follow along and make your own notes as we go. The link for that guide is right here: The Gift of Peace Free PDF.
I would love to hear how you are going to add some peace to your holiday season! Tweet me at @modernmarried or please share in the comments.
Do you know someone who would LOVE some straight talk on how to enjoy the holidays instead of get through them? Please share this post!
