I am so excited to share this interview – which is really like two girlfriends talking about love, marriage and perspective. My dear friend Keri Gavin who is a Mindset and Business Coach asked me to be a part of her Soul Shine Series of interviews and we had a really rich, deep and fun conversation.
We talked about:
- The common first instinct when there’s a problem in our marriage (and what to do instead).
- How “okay” is a dangerous place to live and how we can upgrade our relationships even when they’re good.
- How to use different points of entry to shift our lives from simply okay to truly thriving.
- Figuring out what you actually want in your relationship and recognizing when a relationship isn’t sustainable for what you need.
- The importance of inner work and how developing your relationships (both with yourself and your significant other) is always time well spent.
- How expectations of perfectionism can actually be a warning sign in your relationship or marriage.
- The problem with having a “manual” for how our partner should behave towards or show up for us.
- The Five Love Languages, how to use them to spark a deeper connection with your partner, and how we sometimes misuse this tool as a weapon in our relationships.
- The importance of recognizing and appreciating acts of love (even if they’re not in the form we think they “should” be in).
