Episode 6 – Rethinking The Five Love Languages
My topic on the podcast this week is one of the most popular relationship books in the world. It is often used as a reference source and a guide to help couples get closer.
However, this fabulous tool to build awareness about ourselves and our partners is often used as a weapon and that is not the best way to use this tool.
Join me as I share how to view the love languages differently and why you shouldn’t depend on them to make your marriage better.
One of my core teachings is that you have the power to make your relationship better now. In order to use that power you must not give it away, which is what we often do when we decide our happiness depends on what someone else is doing, instead on how we are thinking and feeling and deciding we want to love and live.
If you have never heard of the love languages, this episode will be a great overview on what they are and how to avoid using them incorrectly. And if you are like many people in my community who are aware of them, but feel frustrated by trying to achieve mastery in your partner’s language or by your partner’s lack of mastery in yours, this episode will open your eyes to a whole new way of being and thinking that will make your marriage better.
