Last week I wrote about my 10 favorite gratitude quotes, this week I am so excited to share one of my all time favorite gratitude practices with you.
Gratitude is one of my favorite practices to help me change my thoughts, uplift my mood and celebrate so many blessings around me every day.
I believe that the more we notice and celebrate, the more we are given to notice and celebrate. If you haven’t come to believe this yet, please try it, experiment and see what happens. Gratitude can open up beautiful areas of your life, including experiencing so much more joy and strengthening your marriage.
If you want to keep a gratitude journal but you don’t know where to start, this free PDF is your Gratitude Super Starter and one of my favorite things I do all year long.
I usually spend some time on Thanksgiving Weekend pondering all the blessings in my life and make a list of 100 things I am grateful for.
It’s fun to look back on those lists over the years and see what is still the same and what has changed.
I used to loooove quick dry nail enamel and now I like shellac manicures.
I still love chocolate!
And being grateful for my health is usually in the top 5 (after the hubby, my bff and miracles. I think I will always love a great miracle!)
One year, I got extra creative and wrote 10 things I was grateful for in advance. On that list – a Lexus (hasn’t happened yet) and “my beautiful engagement ring.”
My beautiful engagement ring was very fun at the time because I didn’t have a boyfriend or any inkling that I might get one but I wrote it anyway.
I met The Hubs about a year later. I now wear my beautiful engagement ring every day, right next to my beautiful wedding ring.
I designed this exercise to be fun and inspiring. I wish I could create a room, with a beautiful scent, soft lighting and great music for you to write. Since the internet hasn’t evolved to holographic rooms (yet!) I did the next best thing.
I am putting you in charge of the lighting and maybe some incense or a candle for a yummy scent. I got you covered with the music with a special Thanksgiving play list on YouTube.
