I just spent the weekend in beautiful Savannah, Georgia at a retreat hosted by the witty and wise Susan Hyatt. The name of the retreat was Life is Delicious and it wasn’t just the Southern Fried Chicken that made it so yummy. It was the power of women coming together to dream deeper, set powerful intentions and move forward in new chapters of our lives.
The thing about Susan is that she believes we can all learn and grow through fun.
So along with the soul searching, limiting-belief-busting questions she asks, she also encourages us to have dance parties, turn our awesome all the way up, channel our inner Beyonce and giggle.
I don’t think I have ever grown so much or laughed so much in one weekend.
One of my favorite parts of the weekend was called “The Popcorn Game” and I got super special ultra clearance to share it with you here, so you can grab your honey and learn and love and possibly laugh at the same time.
Here is how it works:
One person asks the other person’s FAVORITE: Food, Color, Animal, Dog Type, Season, Car, Word, Movie
<insert your Favorite Favorite’s here – vacation location, restaurant, Song, Band, etc>
The person who is asking will then name 3 things about that person who is answering that are like their favorite item.
Example:
Wifey – favorite movie= Singing in the Rain.
Hubby – 3 things about Wife that are like Singing in the Rain =
- Whimsical
- Fun
- High energy
Hubby – favorite car = Subaru Outback (odd but true)
Wife – 3 things about Hubby that are like a Subaru Outback
- All terrain, ready for anything = always prepared hubsicle
- Super reliable and dependable
- Low-key but super powerful
See? For me going through the game helped me learn about the ladies I was with at the retreat and it also helped me learn about myself.
When I did the Subaru question with The Hubs, it taught me that the things we love can be reflections of our deepest inner selves without us even realizing it.
I’ve only done a couple of questions with The Hubs so far, but I am so looking forward to pulling this game out on our next road trip!
