I believe in love.
The endless kind. The Hollywood Movie kind.
And the daily, let’s wash the dishes together kind.
I believe in lists.
I love my grocery list almost as much as my email list. There is boundless love and gratitude in every email I send out that nourishes my heart and hopefully yours. There is food on my table from the first list that nourishes my body. I need both. So do you.
The only list I love more than groceries and email is my gratitude list.
Every year at Thanksgiving I make a list of 100 things I am thankful for. Everything from Shellac Nail Polish to the boxed set of The West Wing is on there.
Things like “being alive” or “living my dreams” are usually near the top (followed closely by The Hubs.)
By number 70, we get to things like Really Good Pizza.
I believe in planning. Yet I love going with the flow. I believe in contradiction.
I believe there is nothing sexier than a reliable man.
I married the most reliable man I know.
True story, during the 2008 election I had a non-crush (AKA-my-hubby-is-reading-this-crush) on Chuck Todd. The political analyst on NBC. Seriously. Reliable and Statistical. What’s not to love?
I believe butter makes everything better.
I believe Chocolate is a food group.
I believe in my Best Friend.
I believe in my Soul Sisters.
I believe music can change my day.
And coaching can change the world.
It changes mine every day.
I believe that my words have power.
I believe your words have power too.
I believe in choosing. Daily and Wisely.
I believe we are meaning making machines and we can choose what meaning we give to things.
I believe in trees. I love old trees, the kind you see in Washington State or Yosemite.
I believe in run-on sentences. And fragments.
I believe the best thing I can do for my life is to learn to manage my mind.
I believe the best thing you can do for your life is to learn to manage yours.
I believe in angels.
The ones in Heaven and the ones on Earth.
I believe someday we are all Angels to someone who needs a friend, a hand or just a really good run-on sentence.
I believe in marriage.
Re-defining it. Re-designing it. Re-imagining it. Re-creating it.
Every day.
For the rest of my life.
I believe that loving someone else, fully-deeply-truly can be the most glorious experience in life.
I believe the first person you love is yourself.
I believe in taking yourself on dates, and giving yourself presents – treating yourself like you would like the love of your life to treat you.
I believe in treating yourself the way you imagine you would treat the love of your life.
I believe everyone can attract love.
I also believe being alone is a sacred, soulful experience.
I believe we can choose.
I believe in the power of relationships to heal our bodies, our lives, our minds and the world.
One love at a time.
I believe loving someone through different seasons of their lives is one of the richest, deepest experiences you can have.
I believe loving yourself is possible.
I believe that deep inside, you know how to fall back in love with your life.
And if you don’t know, you can learn.
I did. And I teach myself daily.
